The short version

FairJar requires no signup. An anonymous Firebase identity is created automatically so your groups can sync. There are no ads or tracking analytics. You can optionally link Google for profile recovery.

What we store

• Group and activity data — group names, expenses, wishlists, birthdays, and scores you enter — stored in Google Firebase so your group can sync.
• Anonymous identity and cloud profile — Firebase stores a random user ID, your chosen display name, group memberships, join and leave timestamps, and whether you completed onboarding. Your display name is visible to members of your groups. Profile and pending-invite data are also saved on your phone.

Optional Google sign-in

If you link Google, Firebase Authentication stores your email address, Google user ID, name and, if provided, photo URL. We use this for sign-in and profile recovery across devices. We never post anything or read your contacts.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app registers through Expo and platform push services (Google on Android and Apple on iOS). This registration sends a push token and installation ID to these services to route notifications. You can turn notifications off in your phone settings.

What we do not do

• No advertising or ad networks.
• No selling your data. Firebase processes authentication, profile and shared-group data; Expo and platform push services process notification registration.
• No analytics SDKs that identify you.

Data deletion

You can leave groups in the app; leaving a group does not delete your identity or shared history. To delete your data, open Home and tap Delete my data below the Google account button. After confirmation, this removes your memberships, cloud profile, Firebase identity (including any Google link) and local app data, then returns you to onboarding.

Shared group history (expenses, settlements, wishlists, gift claims and games) stays so other members retain their records, including any display name stored on those records. Deletion does not settle balances, and a non-zero balance does not prevent deletion. See Delete your FairJar account and data for steps or to request deletion by email without access to the app.
